Rambutan

What in the…Rambutan!?

I was going through our local Costco and came across this cool tropical fruit! We have had cousins visiting for the last few weeks, and they were asking to do something for Rainbow Palates…this seemed like the perfect opportunity!

Rambutan is a tropical fruit that is native to Southeast Asia.

To eat the fruit, you cut around the center and twist it apart. You then peel the rest on the other side. There is an inedible seed in the middle, so you can eat the flesh of the fruit up to the seed.

I loved seeing the kids’ faces when I uncovered the new food we were going to try. They all participated in preparing and eating this cool fruit, and said it tasted similar to a grape!

Have you ever tried this fruit!?
