Food Presentation

When introducing new foods, it’s so important to not overwhelm a child who may be stressed out about even seeing a new food, let alone having to eat it. One way to help your child with this is paying attention to the bite sizes presented to them at a meal or snack.

If a whole piece of food is difficult for child to eat, try offering very small pieces and increase the bite size once they trust the new food! And sometimes, it can be the other way around! You may give your child cut up banana pieces, when they prefer to eat from the whole banana.

Experiment with what might work for your child, and keep in mind, what they prefer may change depending on the food that they are eating!
