Research shows us that having children involved in food prep can help with picky eating! Eating fruits and vegetables can be more difficult for kids.
When you think about crackers, chips, and candy (foods that are easier for kids to eat), they always taste the same every single time you eat them. They have the same texture and look the same. On the other hand, fruits and vegetables can look, feel and taste different every time you eat them, which can be overwhelming for some children.
So our tip - have them in the kitchen, preparing food with you. Even if you simply give them a cutting board, child-safe knife and food to play with and cut, it’s a small step that can make a big difference in having children feel comfortable trying their fruits and veggies.
