Just as we all have preferences on how our food is served, so do our kids.
This visual is just an example to remember to explore what your child/toddler prefers, when it comes to plating their food at mealtimes. For one child, they may prefer to have everything as the whole piece. While for another child, that can be way too overwhelming. If your child doesn’t love touching food, then cut into bite-size pieces may be the way to go. Just this evening, I served pasta to my 4-year old in a large bowl, and she immediately shut down, saying it was too much to eat. There is no wrong or right way to do it, but it is a simple thing to consider that can make a big difference during mealtimes!
