A simple 1-2-3 strategy for working on eating apples with the PEEL!
1. Start presenting a slice without the peel, if that is preferred.
2. With the next slice, keep just a little bit of the peel on.
3. Continue to increase the amount of peel left on the apple.
Kids will slowly get exposed to eating the peel, and be able to trust that it really doesn’t taste any different!
For older kids, it can also be helpful to talk about the important vitamins and minerals that are in the peel, and that by not eating the peel, we are missing out on those healthy benefits!
